Review by MH - Traveled Feb 2018
I went on the Winery Tour and Hahndorf tour. Overall very good, the coach was comfortable and the driver was top notch, very friendly, knowledgeable and a good driver to boot. The only negative is the tour was advertised as a 3 winery tour - Seppelt, Wolf Blass and Penfolds but was only two - Seppelt and Wolf Blass, with Penfolds wine tasting at Wolf Blass with lunch. The lunch was great but the Penfolds wines were below average, bottom of the range budget wines that you can buy for $10-$15 in the bottle shop so very disappointing. On the up side, we loved Seppelt and Wolf Blass, both great experiences - my vote goes to Seppelt, excellent set up, amazing staff and grounds and the wine devine.
Hahndorf was good, enjoyed a German beer at one of the street cafes and plenty of shops to look in and buy souvenirs and we had a reasonable amount of time to look around.
So overall out of ten I’d give a 7, or 3.5 stars - a pleasurable experience only let down by the missing Penfolds tour and the budget wine served with lunch. Fix this, and score would be a possible 9 or 10 (4.5 - 5 stars).
