The first vibrant mural was painted in December 1986 and since this time, over 60 murals that depict the areas natural beauty and rich history are painted on walls and buildings throughout this town. A number of artists’ studios are open to the public and these include fine art, photography, glass, pottery, woodcraft and ceramics.
While in the valley, you will also visit Waldheim Chalet, or ‘Home in the Forest’ where you can enjoy a forest walk. The building of this unique facility was commenced in March 1912 by Kate and Gustav Weindorfers and it enabled the tourist of yesteryear and today to stay in comfort in this spectacular region. This purpose built chalet was constructed of King Billy pine, harvested from the adjacent forest.
