Visit the beautiful Mornington Peninsula for a relaxing and invigorating day at the natural thermal day spa – the Peninsula Hot Springs. Gain the benefits of soaking in the delightfully warm, mineral-rich springs before enjoying a delicious lunch and drinks at a popular winery. Then, enjoy panoramic views across the bay on a scenic gondola before choosing to visit a local chocolaterie or strawberry farm.
An early morning departure (approx. 7:15 am), Melbourne marks the start of an absolutely amazing day. You’ll be transferred in comfortable transport to Peninsula Hot Springs – a thermal mineral pool and spa that is surrounded by glorious natural foliage and has unbelievably beautiful views. You’ll be able to experience up to twenty different bathing experiences as a part of your Bath House admission, such as the thermal mineral spring pools, a beautiful Turkish steam bath (Hamam), an underground sauna, serene cave pool, a stimulating reflexology walk, a cold plunge pool, a family bathing area, massaging thermal mineral showers, lakeside pool and a unique and interesting bathing valley.
You’ll enjoy a relaxing two or three hours enjoying the facilities at Peninsula Hot Springs before drying off and transferring to a popular and local eatery for a scrumptious lunch and wine tasting. Experience a bird’s eye view of the Mornington Peninsula while you fly over the state forest over on the Arthurs Seat Eagle before completing your experience with a visit to the Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie to indulge in a tasting of their delicious hand-crafted chocolates. During the summer months (Nov-March) guests have the option of visiting Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm instead, where you can try your hand at strawberry picking (subject to fruit availability).
**Guests who choose the strawberry picking option will not visit the Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie.
Return to Melbourne at around 6pm, knowing you have enjoyed the best that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer.
About the Hot Springs:
These amazing natural springs are fed from an underground aquifer, located 637 metres below the ground. From here, the 50°c water rises through a bore where it settles about 10 metres under the surface. It is then pumped up to the pools at a pleasant temperature of around 37°c to 43°c. Each pool is drained and cleaned every night, but the water is filtered and returned to the water table to ensure minimal impact on the natural cycle.
The water in the hot springs is sodium chloride bicarbonate rich. The potassium, calcium, magnesium and sodium ions create an almost neutral (only slightly acidic) pH level of 6.8, making the springs extremely beneficial. The trace minerals in the water absorbed through the skin, as well as the benefits of the heat, are responsible for helping with a number of medical conditions. These benefits include improved circulation, helping with hypertension and mild atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and nervous system imbalances and much more.
