Day One (lunch included)
Departing from your Melbourne CBD accommodation at around 7 am, your first day begins with a trip out of Melbourne, viewing the passing sights in a comfortable, air-conditioned mini bus. Your first stop at one of the coast's famous surfing beaches will allow you to view the surfers enjoying their morning paddle while you enjoy some delicious morning tea. Then, it's on to the great Ocean Road's famous Memorial Arch for some photos.
You'll enjoy a walk along a beautiful beach, before visiting Lorne and Anglesea to see the coastal sights from the beaches and lookouts within these areas. We make a stop to give you the opportunity to spot some wild koalas, as well as see some of the gorgeous birds which inhabit the area, such as Kookaburras, King parrots and Crimson Rosellas.
Following a fresh sandwich lunch at Apollo Bay, you'll head off to Otway's Rainforest for a guided bushwalk along a gentle 800-metre circuit through this ancient and glorious temperate rainforest. Afterwards, you'll visit the awe-inspiring limestone Twelve Apostles structure, which is an amazingly inspirational site to photograph.
After the thrill of seeing the Twelve Apostles, you'll be equally thrilled to see the stunning Loch Ard Gorge! You can walk over to the popular Razorback, Salt & Pepper or simply take in the wonder of the towering cliffs against the bright sky and moody ocean from the beach below. Then, the London Bridge rock structure will fascinate you with its majesty and history.
Before settling down in your overnight accommodation at the beautiful Hall's Gap in the heart of the Grampians, you'll delight in a bit of night time kangaroo spotting!
